In Wednesday’s Premier League match Liverpool won against Watford 5:0, what kept them on the top of the table. Hosts’ defenders took part in scoring all the goals.
Liverpool’s full backs had unprecedented performance. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who didn’t appear on the pitch against Manchester United, became the youngest Premier League player to collect three assists in one game. The Englishman turned 20 in October.
He delivered the first assist rom the right wing. He crossed the ball to Mane, who beat the goalkeeper with a header. The second one was provided from the right wing as well, but this time Senegalese had problems with receiving a ball. He corrected himself with a great backheel. The third assist, on 4:0, was a cross from a free kick on the right side. Van Dijk benefited from this pass.
Two assists added Robertson. First the defender passed the ball to Origi, who runned into penalty box, dribbled to the middle and found a bit of space to put the ball in the goal. Then after unsuccessful free kick by Alexander-Arnold, Scot received the ball and crossed it to Van Dijk. The Dutchman set the result of the match.
Mohamed Salah tried a lot to involve in the game, but it wasn’t his day. Fortunately, all the work did the defenders. Trent has already six assists this season, Andy has even eight. Virgil scored thrice during this campaign.
