In January this year, the first installment of the documentary series “Break Point” hit the Netflix platform. The production shows the everyday life of leading tennis players and reveals what is happening outside the courts. The first part of the series was a hit, which is why Netflix announced on March 7 that the series will get another season in 2024.
“Break Point” is a real treat for tennis fans. The series talks about the most important tournaments and challenges in this discipline through conversations with top players in both men’s and women’s tennis. Stars such as Maria Sharapova, Andy Rodick, Toni Nadal, Nick Kyrgios, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Taylor Fritz, Iga Świątek, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger-Aliassimem, Matteo Berrettini, Maria Sakkari and Ons Jabeur took part in the series.
The first season of the series was divided into two parts. The first part, consisting of five episodes and focusing on the Australian Open, Indian Wells, Madrid Open and Roland Garros, was released on January 13, 2023. The second part, also consisting of five episodes and focusing on Wimbledon, Eastbourne International, Queen’s Club, US Open, WTA Finals and ATP Finals, will be released on Netflix in June 2023.
While the second part of the first season of “Break Point” has yet to premiere, Netflix has already announced that it will continue the series for at least one more season. The premiere of the second season of “Break Point” is scheduled for 2024. However, nothing is known at the moment about who will be the hero of the second season.
